1. Please remember that Imagine East will be closed on Monday, January 16 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr holiday. Remember to make it a day on and not off!!!
2. Parents, please be mindful that any absence that is not accompanied by a doctor’s statement or a note of illness from a parent/guardian is considered unexcused. Absences in excess of 10 days for the school year will result in a formal filing with the Marion County Prosecutor’s office. This is a state law. Students have to be at school every day and on time daily in order to receive all of the important educational information presented. Please do everything that you can to get your child to school every day by 8 AM.
3. Tuesday, January 17th kicks off our new school-wide attendance incentive! Classes with perfect attendance each day will race around a paper track within their grade levels. Every month, the class that is closest to the finish line or makes it to the finish line will get to choose a little something extra fun for their class. Prizes could be any one of the following….a pie in Mr. Dinkins face, pajama dress down day, or popcorn & a movie, to name a few. So get your students to school each day and we’ll see you at the finish line!
4. Girls Inc. for registered 4th and 5th grade girls will begin on Thursday, January 19 at 3:30. Parents must pick the girls up promptly at 4:30 pm.
5. We have had many questions about after school tutoring lately. We are pleased to announce that information about a new tutoring program will be sent home with invited students in grades 3-8 on Monday, January 23. This tutoring program will begin on January 30, and will be conducted on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. Also, our SES tutoring program will continue for students who are already enrolled. We hope to invite more students to attend our next SES tutoring session – invitations will go home for that program later this month.”
6. Hallelujah Praise Dancers will meet on Thursday’s from 3:45 through 4:45 until further notice.
7. “Our Legacy” program practice will begin this Thursday, January 19th at 3:45-4:45 we are looking for students to help in the areas of speaking parts as well as stage crew… WE are excited about the quickly approaching event, so plan to come out and show support of our students at the “Our Legacy” Program on February 24th and 25th at 6pm.Please Contact Ms.Sallie ext.120 if you with any questions or concerns
8. Attention parents of fourth – eighth grade students. We will be hosting a wonderful afterschool program here at Imagine East called Afternoons Rock. This is a program that teaches character development to students as well as alcohol and drug prevention. The program will run two days per week for eight weeks starting the week of January 23rd. Please look for permission forms to come home with your child on Tuesday, January 17th. The signed permission forms should be returned to your child’s teacher by Friday, January 20th. We will NOT provide transportation home for students taken part in the Afterschool Rocks program. Students will have to be picked up by a parent if they plan to participate in this program.
